New Camera

I have been out and brought a new camera it a canon eos 550 d with a canon zoom lens ef 70 - 300 mm 1:4 - 5.6 is usm, Today was the first day of using it and i really feel that quite a few of the photos are over exposed and this spoils them i have chosen a few good ones and a few bad .

i have done this at collage and i have not got the settings these were taken in but will put them on tomorrow. 

Also the camera i brought i will have to put on later. 

Tim Flach

Tim Flach is well recognised both in America and Europe for his work on Animals and their relationship with the environment in which they live.

He was born in London and also studied communications design between 1977 and 1980. He then studied painted structures and photography at central Saint Martin’s college of art between 1982 and 1983.

His work on animals and their relationship with the environment have been exhibited in several places in America. He has also exhibited his fine art work in London.

His work has been recognised by many organisations and journals and over the years has won numerous awards in the photography world in several countries including France the USA and England.

His work has also featured in many magazines and publications including the National Geographic and Sunday Times Magazine.

Between 2002 and 2005 he was a director of the association of photographers. He has remained a member and has judged many competitions including Hasselblad Master and Wildlife Photographer of the year run by the National History Museum in London.

His career has also included lecturing in many British universities as well as giving talks on photography in Moscow, Dubai, Shanghai in China.

He has most recently published (September 2010) his second book which studies human/ animal friendships.

I like his work because he takes pictures of parts of animals like their nose, tail leg ect not just the whole body like a traditional picture.

Talk with Steve 14/10/2010

Now having talked to Steve i have decided to do a folio of farm life then i can capture both parts of my themes in this Nature and People and Portrait, i think i will try to catch people in there work go to the farm and take pictures of them working (people and portrait) and animals, farm equipment and buildings.. (nature)
i have been looking at a book by Paul Strand "The outer Hebrides of Scotland" and this is the sort of thing that i am interested in and would like to try to achieve this sort of thing and level.

I like this picture as the weather was not very nice and the sky was gray so it looks like she was standing all alone, the face fills the screen and the nose not being in focus just adds value to this picture.

This was taken in the barn at the farm this cow is nasty and she was not very happy with me being there i think this is framed really well and the focal point in think is her eyes.

TODAY I HAVE BEEN OUT AND TAKEN SOME PHOTOS OF BAILS..I FOUND THE SHOTS IN THE BARN QUITE HARD BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF LIGHT, BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR THE BAILS ARE NOT A VERY NICE COLOUR BUT I LIKE HOW THESE HAVE TURNED OUT.

I have taken these pictures of bails because i have had the idea from one of Charlie Waites photos (seen earlier in my blog) but his was done in a field, because of the time of the year i was unable to do this so i found some bails and climbed on them and over them to get different perspectives of the bails.
