Final 10 in landscape before photoshop !

These are my final images for landscape this is before photoshop and before cropping to the correct size.

Joe Cornish talk at Burton Collage

I have been to the talk at collage by Joe Cornish at Burton collage, this was very interesting and an experience.

What i have learnt from the talk was that Joe travels wide and far just to get the right shot !!!

In all of his images light plays a big part of Joe just getting the right image.

He was saying that it is very rare that he just visits a place once he keeps going back to the same place time and time again until he get the light and composition just right and this is very apparent in his images.

I also learnt that he uses a very long exposure on his images even as long a one hour !

Joe has published many books now these were on sale on the night and i could not resist and brought one !!!

"Mum and William" final image ( i think )

This image was done whilst i was photographing another person i just looked around and took this i like is because of the conservation on there faces and they did not realise i was photographing them !!

This is like the work of Paul Strand and Lewis W Hine people at work and natural portrait.

I took this image with my Canon 550 d with the standard lens, this was taken in a work shop and i had to make sure i took it with an high iso so i could make the light better...

With health and safety i had to be very care with tripping over objects and with machinery and tools around had to watch my step also with a child being there, that's why my mum is holding him so he did not get hurt...

This is my original.

I have tried to make this a little brighter the faces don't seem so drained, and the toy is a lot brighter.

I have done this in black and white but think i proffer colour.

"BEN" final portrait.

This is going to be one of my final images in people and portrait, i have used the same techniques as Lewis W.Hine and Paul Strand with the use of a solid back ground in my case a brick wall, The face expiration was mutual not smiling not unhappy just "normal".

I did try the image in black and white but it looks better in colour.

If you look at the image the stripes of Ben's top follows the lines of the brick work, the rule of the thirds is presents in this image as well.

I used my canon 550d with the standard 18 - 55mm lens, as held by hand i think this worked well but next time i might use a tripod as the person stayed still and might make the picture more sharp.

With health and safety taken into consideration all i had to be aware of was the surrounds and the safety of he other person, there was no traffic or animals around, i had to watch my footing as the ground was a little uneven but that was all.

I have tyred this in black and white, but i really don't like it ? I cant really explain why !!

I have changed the saturation in this picture, and have made the the back wall a lot brighter. 

This is my final image wall brighter, i have cropped it a little but have kept Ben's hands in as i think this makes him look more relaxed.

FINAL IMAGE " SNOWY TREE "

I think this is going to be one of my final images i was taken in the middle of the day it had stopped snowing but it was still really cold,

I had to be very careful of the ice made sure that i did not slip over, i took some one with me as i had to walk over a couple of fields,

This image was taken with my Canon 550d with my Canon zoom lens ef 70 - 300 mm 1:4 - 5.6 is usm.

At this stage i changed the image to the required size

I have changed the sharpness and made the back ground trees and hedges darker, i think this works with the image as it makes them stand out more and makes the tree stand out, The composition of the picture works well with the tree being central in this image. 

The rule of the thirds is present in this image both with the tree, hedges and the sky.

This is my final image think its sharper, and stands out better.

William jumping

This is my original image again there is a little bit of dirt on the left hand side i have cloned this and have deleted it later on.

This is the final image again i like this as his feet are of the ground and hes not looking direct at me, i have deleted the dirt on the left.

I know that his shadow is present but i do like this.

i have taken a image of William with a ball there was some dirt on the bottom left corner and just to the right of his head i have cloned the back ground and have erased the marks. 

i think this looks a lot better now and sharper and cleaner. The rule of the thirds is present in this image i know that he is of set to the left but i think this makes this images stand out.
